Johnson Brothers Indian Tree
The popular Johnson Brothers Indian Tree pattern makes use of a cream background. The free-flowing branches of the tree and the magnificent detailing on them displays a true craftsmanship for each of the fine china pieces. Majority of the exquisite flowers are in shades of maroon and there are small florets in cornflower blue. Making use of watercolor strokes, the design is able to project depth and texture. The chief color in this particular design, however, is green that small details of leaves stand out brought about by the hues of toned down reds in the background. Surrounding the main tree in the middle, there are also smaller branches with flowers on the rim of plates.

Depending on the type of china, it has either a one-layer of brown border for smaller plates and two-layer brown border for dinner plates. Serving platters and oval plates also have two-layer brown border with structural patterns. Most plates are designed with a scalloped rim, reminiscent of traditional British china.
The Johnson Brothers Indian Tree print has also been used for cup and saucers, cream soup and saucer set, coupe, cereal bowl and lugged cereal bowl. Other examples of the fine china carrying this pattern include dinner plates, serving platters, dessert plates, bread and butter plates. Additional accessories include mugs, salt and pepper shakers, teapots and multi-level dessert plates.
The fine china earthenware, bearing the seal of Johnson Brothers, was produced from 1979 to 1982. These fine accessories can be a part of a collection and they can be for every day use as well.
